INSPIRATION
We wanted to bring the work of local artisans to an international audience creating a softer image of Pakistan internationally. In addition, we wanted to cater for every type of woman in society who does not have easy access to the remarkable pool of talent in Pakistan. Our fashion sense, entrepreneurial backgrounds and a solid business idea led to the creation of The London T.
HIGHLIGHT
Hira: Our first Saverah Expo in 2016 which was a sell out as it was the first time we were bringing our product to clients in the open market and not just showcasing to friends and family.
Syeda: To be featured in one of Pakistan’s top fashion magazine’s: Libas International, Volume 30 in 2017 alongside fashion stalwarts.
WORK/FAMILY BALANCE
The keys to this are time management, understanding Hira and my commitments and juggling accordingly and a superb production team managed by the hawk eye of Samia Akram (manager) and led by the talented Danyal Gill (head tailor) in Pakistan.
LONDON MUSLIM LIFESTYLE SHOW
We exhibited in 2017 and will be doing so again in 2018. It was a very positive experience. A professional and well-organised show, it provided an ideal platform to showcase our product to a wide range of women in a Central London venue.
TOP TIP
You must have the drive to succeed, a trusted and experienced team of employees, a gap in the market and target audience for you to set up a viable business. You have to believe in yourself and your product. It will not be easy, nothing in life is but obstacles are a learning curve which can be solved with tenacity, hard work and a logical approach.

Heritage of the Commonwealth" pageant at South Africa House
The London T represented Pakistan at the “Heritage of the Commonwealth” pageant at South Africa House on Tuesday, 17th November 2015. This event was organized by the Commonwealth Countries League for the empowerment of rural women in Jamaica, Ghana and Grenada. All the models involved in the event were amateurs and Tabetha Bhatti, muse of the designer duo behind “The London T” walked the ramp for them. The outfit showcased was a beautiful, traditional hand embroidered silver and pink shalwar kameez. The styling was done by prominent London based make up artist Amina Salahuddin. The London T did an amazing job showing a demure and truly traditional outfit with exquisite handiwork which was appreciated by the audience.
